Sunday, February 8th, at 1 p.m.: Gospel Blues -- New for 2015!

Sponsored by the Susquehanna River Arts and

the Columbia-Montour Visitors Bureau

In the Sanctuary at Wesley United Methodist Church, at the

corner of Market and 3rd Streets, Bloomsburg, ALEXIS P. SUTER

AND THE MINISTERS OF SOUND shared the stage with dozens of

  members of Bloomsburg-area choirs: a one-of-a-kind performance!

Blues Music Award-nominee and Koko Taylor Award-nominee Alexis P. Suter is a powerhouse bass/baritone vocalist with the ability to go to "that other place" where singers go when they get lost in the music.  Mesmerizing and gripping do not begin to describe what happens to her and to those who witness her heart-felt song interpratations.  No wonder the likes of B.B. King and Levon Helm are Alexis P. fans, with Suter and her band playing at nearly 100 of Helm’s shows up in Woodstock, N.Y., and opening for “The King” when he visits her hometown of New York City.

Along with the singular voice of Miss Suter, The Ministers of Sound feature the multi-faceted talents of Ray Grappone (Alexis P. Suter Band, Buster Poindexter, Levon Helm) on drums and percussion, Vicki Bell (APSB, Open Door, Corey Daye) on vocals and percussion, the phenomenal Dave Keyes on piano and organ.

The Ministers of Sound enthrall audiences every time they play, with their mix of Gospel, Blues, Traditional, Poignant, and Time-Honored American Music.
